Questions for the Great Gatsby

1. Why does Gatsby act like a stalker, trying to communicate with Daisy after years of being broken up with her? Even to go as far as buying a house near her?

2. Why does Gatsby act embarrassed when he was introduced to Tom?

3. Is there a internal reason for why Gatsby throws such big parties?

4. Why does Tom not find Daisy interesting, but still treats Mrytle like she is less than that of Daisy?

  1. 2A: Gatsby feels like he shouldn't be in the presence of Daisy's husband, since he doesn't have good intentions with her.

  2. I think gatsby throws such big parties and is still connected to Daisy because he's lonely, he grew up without much of a family and I think he tries to surround himself with many people now, to make up for much of his life prior.

He is hoping Daisy will show up to one of them.

  4. 1)In my opinion, I think Daisy was Gatsby's first and true love. When he found out that she was married i bet he was debistated so, he wants to know why she didnt wait for him.

  5. Gatsby may act embarassed when he meets Tom because he could have been the military guy that was Daisy before she married Tom. Gatsby may also still have feelings for her.

  6. A1: I believe that the reason Gatsby does all of that stuff is because deep down he feels that he is still in love with her.
